Add support for Shift Crypto's BitBox02

It would be nice to have support for the Swiss company “Shift Crypto”'s BitBox hardware wallet. Other crypto tracker software uses the wallet’s public addresses to automatically keep track of the wallet.

Hello @aaschwanden! Thank you for your recommendation. We will keep it in the pipeline. If more users push for it, we will be prioritizing it.

So than … PUSH! PUSH!

Hi there,
as a BitBox02 owner, I am very interested in a support of the BitBox02 hardware wallet by Accointing. Actually, I think that the BitBox02 wallet gained a lot of popularity with an increasing user base in the recent past, and therefore it would be rather reasonable to prioritize it.
Thanks and kind regards.

If you don’t get ahead of yourself, you’ll never be recommended by big influencers. That’s because they usually recommend cointracking. There are many new bitcoiners coming into the market, so go ahead and implement bitbox regardless of how many demand. Don’t run after them, move ahead. This is the only way to win over new customers in the market right away.

I use accointing and I am a YouTuber  How to file your Crypto taxes for 2020 with Accointing (More than 2251 Transactions on TurboTax) - YouTube

If we had the manpower, we would implement a lot more

+1 for Bitbox Support

CSV Import would be also a great Feature for Integration until Bitbox is full supported in Accointing

+1 for BitBox2 Support

At least create the possibility to import the BitBox2 Wallet CSV Export.
Fully BitBox2 Wallet Support would be highly appreciated.

As a swiss company, you should support the safest (and swiss) wallet!

Please add Bitbox2 import. It’s the best and safest Hardware Wallet.

Can’t understand, why you have no integration for this hardware wallet. It’s widely used and by far the safest wallet out there. Please get in contact with those guys to implement the integration: BitBox Hardware-Wallet von Shift Crypto 🇨🇭

Hi folks,

maybe we can start with gathering some information here about this BitBox02 device. Do you have access to the public key and what sort of addresses are commonly used, e.g. bative segwit (P2WPKH). Then it would be nice to know how you interact with the device, using addresses only, an app or a browser extension.

Hi Can, happy to hear that!

BitBox 02 is working with a very up to date standard. It’s developed by the Bitcoin core developer Jonas Schnelli.

Here’s a screenshot of the app with the informations for the bitcoin wallet:

Here’s a video, where you can see whole process: BitBox02 Hardware Wallet - Besser als Ledger? | Review & Anleitung - YouTube

You have an app to interact with the BitBox 02. Keep in mind that there is a Bitcoin-Only Version and one with Mutliversion, which supports Bitcoin, Etherium and Litecoin since some time now Cardano.

Thanks a lot for taking care of this topic.

It would be great to have support for the BitBoxApp (and thus the BitBox hardware wallets). The integration could be simple: just allowing users to import the CSV that they can export from the app, while filtering out duplicates (so only new transactions are added on import). Or simply by adding the XPUB from a Bitcoin account.

Advanced options would also be available, but that’s probably something for later:

I work for Shift Crypto, makers of the BitBox. Please ping me if you have any questions!
